Figure 53: Tailrace tunnels at the north end of the West Side Mill District. The main tailrace in the center runs beneath 1st Street. The Columbia Mill, Bassett Sawmill, and City Water Works turbines are in the upper left, the Crown Mill turbines are in the left center, and the Standard Mill turbine in the lower center. The Empire Mill/Pillsbury B Elevator turbine is in the upper right.
